Please tell us about you and your family?

Well, i am 47, born in Geneva (Switzerland) and still living here.
I am married with Elsa and we have a 12 year sweet daughter, Clara...
After my studies I travelled a lot , then worked as math teacher, as freelance developer, re-travelled a lot, worked as full time analyst-programmer for years... As this became a little bit repetitive and boring, i quit, and now i am involved mainly in the translation bureau founded by Elsa 15 years ago. We translate from German and English INTO French :-) and we have a quite stable clientele now, Geneva is a good place for that job. I also have some PC "help-desk" activities and i'm trying to find clients for doing more web-designing...

Tell us about your interests and hobbies?

Reading comes in first place...Listening and making music! i played guitar in some rock groups in my young years, now with the numerous sound processing softwares available, a computer can be used as instrument, recorder, sampler, sequencer etc... i do it for fun...I spent also a lot of time in the past years hunting over the net on some side roads for all those graphic and music softs i am using now, downloading night after night, it becames almost addictive :-). And i'm trying to have a minimum of sportive activity, ski, sailing on the Lake of Geneva (the largest lake in Europe!)...

Tell us why you picked your nickname if you have one?

Rico Wack is my real name. "Wack" comes from Alsace at the France/Germany frontier. "Rico" is not a diminutive or a nickname, my mother was native from a mountainous swiss canton called Grishun where people still speak a language called Rumantsch, and Rico is a rumantsch forename, corresponding to Richard, Ricardo, Enrico...Since it sounds like a nickname i ever used it...

If you had one wish what would it be?

Just one? NO WAR IN IRAQ!! (I write this the 4th of March)

What movies, books, songs do you like?

Those who transport me in their author's world, raising true emotion and therefore are a real-life experience....

How long have you been using Fractal Explorer?

I downloaded vers. 1.18 (i guess) in dec. 1999...But i "seriously" began to "compose" fractal images when i buyed my first color printer in 2000. I covered our walls with printings until my wife observed that quality could be nicer than quantity:)

Why did you join FE Users Group?

For learning, for looking to others works, for making my own pics visible to others. And i learned much! There are a lot of talented and very friendly people in this group, i'd never regret a second for having subscribed, and i am very honored for have been chosen "Fractalist of the Month" :-)

What is your favorite type of Fractal?

Since I am a little bit color-blind, I'm much inspired by patterns, forms and textures I think, but I have not really favorites.

May we post some of your Fractals?

Of course! they were done for being viewed... and if you want, you can see more on my site at http://www.wack.ch/frac/.
