Do you have a nickname you use on the net?
BubblyBabs. Actually, I started out as BossyBabs but AOL screwed up my account and I had to start over. They wouldn't allow me to use BitchyBabs (which I think fits better) so I sat there and brainstormed with all kinds of names until I decided upon BubblyBabs.
Would you tell us a little about you and your family?
I'm a mom of 4. Two of them have an autism-spectrum disorder, the other two are fine. I am recently widowed after being together for over 23 years. I miss my husband. I grew up in Pennsylvania, moved down to Tennessee many years ago. I am the oldest of 3. I'm a rebel without a cause (but I'm always looking for one!) I graduated from college with a 4.0 gpa. Unfortunately I can't say that about high school because I never graduated but I did get my GED. I lived in the Childrens Home of Reading for a while before going to a group home. Was the best time of my life as a teen.

I live in a town.
What country do you live in? What is your native language?
USA, English is my native language. I wish I spoke other languages though.
Is there anything that you find special about your country that you'd like to share with us?
Oh, I suppose everyone knows about the land of the free.
Other than using the computer and making fractals, what other interests and hobbies do you have?
I am a big, huge, huge, gihugic fan of the Harry Potter series. When the last movie came out my kids and I went to view it on it's first night showing all dressed up as witches and wizards. I was surprised to find out we-were-the-only-ones to do that! I love to read, even have a dictionary and other books by the ole commode. My other passion is making graphics. Just adore it.
Who is your favorite author/actress/actor?
Favorite author, after J.K.Rowling is Stephen King.
What is your favorite movie?
Well, for all the hype I just gave of the Harry Potter books I can definitely say the movies are NOT my favorites. My favorite movie is Awakenings. Gives me goodbumps to think of it.
What is your favorite book if you are a reader?
Harry Potter series! After that I'd say Pet Semetary. Then Gone With The Wind.
Who is your favorite singing artist/group?
Jeez, I have such an eclectic taste in music. I love John Denver, Styx, Jewel, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Union Station, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, Dolly Parton, Madonna, Christina Aguillera, Michael Jackson. There's so many I love to listen to. My new passion is Goldfrapp and Evanescence.
Any particular song you like the most in the whole wide world?
Woof, another toughie. I guess I'd have to say Going To California by Led Zepplin
What kind of car do you drive if you have one? What kind of car would you really like to have?
I drive a Honda Odyssey. Love my van.
Do you have any pets? If you do, what are they?
Oh my, pets! I have a dog, 4 cats, a rabbit, 6 fish tanks with several hundred fish, a cameleon, some firebellied toads, a parakeet, and a cockateil. I think that's it. For now.
What kind of job do you do? How long have you been doing it?
I'm a critical care LPN. I work in a hospital. Been a nurse since 1992.
What would you consider a dream job?
Well, not nursing. I love my computer. Would love to have a job where I just did computer stuff. But out of my home.
What season is your favorite? Any particular reason?
Autumn is my absolute favorite. Guess it brings back memories of school, friends, looking forward to the holidays. My second favorite is Spring. Looking forward to the warmth after the winter, the pretty flowers, hearing the crickets.
What time of day do you like best? Any particular reason?
I'm a night owl. To me the perfect job would be from 7pm to 3am! I don't know why, my mom and one of my daughters are also night owls. Genetic? Don't know. I like the smell of the night, the quiet, the stillness, listening to the night insects.
What kind of computer do you own? (if you can, tell us the brand, your motherboard, your RAM, monitor size, the screen resolution you use). How long have you been using a computer?
I own an AMD Athlon 1.73ghz with 1gb RAM. It was made for me by someone on the Quake2 Mailing List. My husband bought it for me about 5 years ago. Still going strong. Of course, I am still recovering from a major hard drive failure but that's not the fault of the computer itself.
How long have you been using the internet?
Been using it for about 15 years now. I'll never forget the first time I hooked up to it. I have DSL now but I still miss the sound of the modem.

Do you play games online? If yes, which ones?
I play Quake2 and Quake3. My handles for them are either QuakeBabs, BubblyBabs, or Epistaxis. Dink helped me choose my Epistaxis name.
Do you belong to any online organizations? If so, do you wish to name them and tell us why you chose to belong to them?
I used to belong to Sisters of the Golden Moon but that is all. I may rejoin once I get more time on my hands.

Now lets talk fractals! Do you remember when you discovered fractals?
Yes, I came across a website with fractal images on it and was hooked from that point on. Gorgeous images!
How many fractal making programs have you used in the past or are currently using? How long would you say you've been using Fractal Explorer?
I've tried anything free I could find. I like FE the best because it's so easy to use yet can make some gorgeous images. Jeez, I've been using FE for more than 5 years I do believe.
Is there a feature in Fractal Explorer that you like best?
It's just easy to use. Intuitive.
What is there about Fractal Explorer that you like the least?
I'm not too keen on the new color control color order section. I prefer the old way better.
Do you remember when you first joined the FEUsers mailing list? Was there a particular reason that you joined?
Yup! i sure do! I was in love with FE and in the process of learning when I went to Arthurs site to find that a new yahoo group had formed, I joined in hopes of learning more about the program and to share my images.
What type of fractal would you say is your favorite?
Sierpinski, it's so darn difficult to get a decent looking fractal out of it.
Is there any particular type of formula in Fractal Explorer that you like best? Any reason you find this is so?
I like the Guido and Reminder formulas because they are difficult to get anything decent out of them but once you find something it's usually gorgeous.
Is there any particular type of formula in Fractal Explorer that you like least? Could you state why?
I don't like the Orbitals because you rarely find something that totally wows you.
Is there anything in particular you'd like to see changed in Fractal Explorer?
Just the color control color order section, I'd like to see it changed back to the way it was in the older FE programs. I'd also love to see a way to add layers, as it is I do that in Photoshop.
Do you post-process your fractals?
Yes, I often do.
If you do, what program do you use?
Mostly Photoshop. Been using it since v.4
What is your favorite type of post-processing you like to do?
Love the laquer filter, I over use it and I know I do. Flaming Pear is my favorite filter company, then comes Andromeda. I use layers alot. Am just learning to use curves. There's so much to learn.
What would you most like to learn when it comes to post-processing
your fractals? What kind of tutorials would you like to see on the FEUsers site in the future?
I need to bug Robert Kearney for some tutorials, he is excellent.
Is there anything you'd like to see added to the FEUsers Mailing List site?
Well, yes, now that you mention it. Loads of stuff. Am working on things now.
